Brief History

Liên's parents are both Vietnamese, but her father is a university professor and researcher working abroad. She was born in the United States while he was a permanent resident in a college town in Wyoming. She has visited Vietnam with her parents, but has never lived there. Her mother runs a small business online, providing time management coaching via video conference. (When she's not taking care of Liên's little brother, 2 years old, named Minh.) Professor Ngo now works at a university in Germany.

Liên does not live with her family. She is a scholarship student at the prestigious Farrel Dance Conservatory, a boarding school with a combined dance and high school education. It is located in a small suburb between Chicago and Saint Louis, in the United States. She shares a dorm with two roommates—Mei, from China, and Diana, from Russia. Liên is a moderately talented dancer, but if she would apply herself to her studies (both academically and for dance) she would see more improvement. Living on her own, away from her family, is somewhat challenging for her. She thought she had adapted to it during her first year at the school, but this second year just seems to be harder for her to handle.

Attack 1: "Fin Splash!" - Sailor Euclase Betta whirls around and generates a fin-shaped cresting wave of shimmering crystalline water that splashes opponents. Besides a good soaking, it also causes force damage. It has a 40% chance of kicking the targets back 5' from their original position. The wave occurs in a 5' radius around her body. 
Attack 2: "Flare Fist!" - Sailor Euclase Betta seems suddenly larger, taller, and significantly more intimidating. She delivers a powered-up punch that slams into a single opponent with a deluge of water, as well as the physical impact of the enhanced punch. The impression of being "bigger" and "scarier" is an illusion that can make an opponent flinch and fail to react quickly. She needs to be in melee range for this attack.

Sailor Soldier Appearance

When Liên transforms into Sailor Euclase Betta, her appearance changes slightly. She stands taller and looks older, more in the 17-18 age range. Her hair deepens from red-orange to a bright and true RED.

Her design colours and hair were inspired by betta with rich blue bodies and long red fins. I think it's such a fun colouration! I really enjoy betta as pets, so I was very happy to be able to choose a betta for my animal. ♥ Per the requirements for Shining she does not have fins, her hairstyle is just evocative of the fins.

I gave Liên a Vietnamese background because betta are commonly exported from Vietnam. They often live in rice paddies, hence her earrings' rice plant design.

She's a ballet student because I LOVE BALLET. ♥
